Davido is finally back in the music scene with a huge announcement. New Davido album? hell yes OBO. Having taken a much-needed break to mourn his son’s demise, the international afrobeats star returns with a new album release date and an album artwork.
David Adeleke and also popularly known as Davido has announced the release date for his highly anticipated album. The album promises to be his fourth studio project.
This announcement arrives days after deleting several pictures and videos from his Instagram page. An action fellow record label members, public figures, and fans took to support the afrobeats singer. However, Davido released a video announcing his new album.
In December 2022 Davido sent out a cryptic social media message that implied there will be a new album in 2023. Therefore, his latest announcement signifies one thing, we were all right to expect a new album from him.
Davido’s Timeless Album
Furthermore, the title of the new Davido album is ‘Timeless’, and this is his fourth studio album which will be released on the 31st of March. ‘Timelesss‘ is set to contain 17 (seventeen) songs. And this is a tradition that he has carried from his debut album, ‘Omo Baba Olowo (OBO): The Genesis.’ Also, in between are 2020’s ‘A Better Time‘ album, and the critically acclaimed ‘A Good Time‘ album released in 2019.
Also, in a Twitter post, Davido says “There is a time for everything. A time to Grieve and a time to Heal. A time to Laugh and a time to Dance. A time to Speak and a time for Silence.”
“Thank you to everyone out there for your love and support that has held me down. All the love and messages while I was away, the gifts sent, the concerts you all threw! I appreciate it all. Today, I want to remind you all that what is now Timeless, was once new. It’s time for new. My next album TIMELESS is here, March 31st,” he wrote in the caption.
Davido has been off the music scene for several months following the tragic loss of his son, Ifeanyi. The three-year-old whom he shared with his fianceé, Chioma Rowland, died in October 2022 after drowning in a pool at the singer’s residence in Lagos.
